Our life in GA as we go from a family of five to a family of six!

About

Welcome to my blog!  I enjoy writing and since our family is spread out all over the country and our friends are spread out all over the globe, it’s a great way to keep everyone who cares up to date with the fun, the struggles, and the beauty of our life here at home in GA.

I’m Michelle, 36 year old Michigan-born, Georgia girl.  I’m a nurse and a stay-at-home mom.  I work Wednesdays in a wound care clinic and otherwise, I’m home with my family, homeschooling and enjoying life on our tiny homestead-to-be.

Me

Mostly, I spend my days trying to organize life enough to make it manageable and chaos-free.  Anyone with kids knows that’s an awfully lofty goal.  School, laundry, play, Georgia red clay, crumbs, stacks of books and papers, bills, dishes, arguments, and skinned-knees all conspire to keep life just a little out of whack.  I’m learning that letting my agenda go and letting God bring peace in the midst of chaos is much more fulfilling!

My hero/husband is a high school teacher at a Christian school in the area, and we’ve been married for 13 amazing years.

Cassandra is our oldest child.  She is 10 years old and enjoys reading, singing, drawing, imagining, and talking to friends.   She’s good at math, but doesn’t like it.

Emma is my no-longer-middle child, and is 8 years old.  She enjoys dolls, Polly Pockets, being outside, babies, and animals.  She is good at spelling and is starting to enjoy reading.

Garrett is my little hero.  He’s 6 years old and struggles with being littler than the rest of the family.  He tries to make up for it by being braver, running faster, and yelling louder than everyone else.  He likes building things, math, playing with matchbox cars, and watching Curious George.

Our daughter, Anna Elise, is due to join our family via c-section on July 1, 2011.

And that’s the Six At Home in Georgia!
